Promoting labour for overdue pregnancy

suitable from 40 weeks

Option to choose a package or a single session

It is normal to feel some stress about labour and birth. When the time is right, labour will begin naturally!

Your due date at 40 weeks is simply an estimate of the gestation of your baby and not a fixed cutoff date of your baby's arrival. Research shows that, especially with a first baby, it is more likely you will give birth after this date.

Some women may choose to decline a routine postdates medical induction and continue their pregnancy until 42 weeks (the end of term), while others may choose to go beyond this. Understanding the risks and benefits by weighing all options ensures you make the most informed decision. And, ultimately the decision is yours!

Still, you may feel anxious when labour will start and these sessions may feel right for you!

natural labour induction
I use a combination of therapies that work together to promote the natural start of labour. It involves the therapeutic effects of acupressure, reflexology, aromatherapy and massage.

Please note that promoting labour, even in more natural ways, is an intervention to the natural course of the pregnancy.

If you and baby are ready, it may assist in starting labour by:

🪷 supporting the baby to move down into the pelvis

🪷 ripening the cervix

🪷 gently stimulate the onset of contractions

Reported data shows the combination of these therapies:

🌿 reduces medical induction of labour for 'postdates' pregnancy (routinely recommended in the maternity system)

🌿 reduces chances of intervention in labour

The therapies offered in these sessions help reduce stress hormones (cortisol and adrenaline), stimulate the love and birth hormone (oxytocin)creating the optimal conditions for labour to start.

This is a space for you to explore your options, receive valuable evidence-based information, ease anxieties, feel calm, confident, and fully supported by me who has time for you.

These sessions are dedicated to healthy pregnancies beyond 40 weeks. They are not suitable for pregnancies with certain medical complications, as interventions may be recommended.

We had such a lovely experience. Andreia was very thorough getting to know about me and my pregnancy.
She explained what she was doing with acupressure points and reflexology so me and my partner could continue to use them and she gave me a wonderful massage. I would really recommend a session with her, especially if you are getting stressed about being over due!
