Your body instinctively knows how to labour and birth! Nonetheless, preparation and trust can make a difference on your childbirth experience.
Complementary therapies are used during pregnancy to promote relaxation, comfort and balance. They also support your body and mind as you prepare for labour.

This birth preparation helps you to choose the therapies that resonate most with your unique circumstances. During our time together, we can explore body movement exercises to balance your body, that can be taught to you and your partner; you have the flexibility to discuss birth preferences, ask any questions and receive valuable information along the way (read more here).
What matters most is that you feel supported in finding and practicing the preparation methods that help you feel the most confident, calm, and empowered as you approach labour and birth.
You can start when it feels right for you. It will be tailored to your stage of pregnancy.
3 x approx. 90min sessions:
➡️ You can choose therapies such as acupressure, reflexology, hypnotherapy, aromatherapy and massage.
We will be working together to cultivate a positive mindset and promote a sense of body and mind relaxation by increasing:
🪷 feeling good hormones (serotonin and dopamine)
🪷 love and birth hormone (oxytocin)
🪷 natural pain-relief hormones (endorphins and encephalins)
and decreasing stressing levels (cortisol), which may promote a physiological start of labour.

You may wish to have your birthing partner nearby to learn supportive ‘tools’. During labour, offering you acupressure and massage can help manage feelings of pain and overwhelm. This, in turn, can make the experience easier and calmer. The remainder of the aromatherapy blend will be given to you to use at home.

Andreia has always struck me as a colleague who is passionate about her job and really advocates for women’s needs and rights. As a midwife myself, I found that her birth preparation package really guided me into a mindset of getting ready to meet my baby. It especially helped me to completely switch those last “waiting weeks” of the end of the pregnancy to active mindfulness. The package included acupressure, reflexology and massage with essential oils…. I mean,why not !? Who doesn’t need a massage in pregnancy?
We also worked on body alignment which I used in labour to help my baby to engage better in the birth canal and speeding my labour up. All of that in just one session.
Oh,Almost forgot .. I carried on using a blends of essential oils that Andreia tailored for me following our chat on what I needed the most out of the session.
I felt it was something else that I could use to encourage my labour to start and that made me feel even more in charge of myself and my body.
