Frequently asked questions

How do I book?

Preferably, I would like to ask you to fill out this form in order to give me a brief information about your history and services you are interested in, to better understand if they are suitable and appropriate to yourself. Otherwise you have the option to contact me via social media or by sending me an email. I will then contact you as soon as possible to arrange a call without any commitment. I look forward to work with you!

How do payments work?

Full payment for individual sessions and course of treatments/package is required by bank transfer at time of booking or at least 48 hours before your first appointment. The payment is non-refundable. An invoice will be sent to you via email. You can read Terms & Conditions for further information on cancelation/rescheduling.

What is the difference in the care provided here from my named Midwife?

This is an additional care service designed to complement your routine maternity care with your midwife. It offers individual and personalised support based on your unique needs and preferences. It includes complementary therapies, body movement exercises, and tailored advice to help you achieve balance in body and mind, feel nurtured, and explore options beyond standard maternity care. When booking 'postdates' labour promotion, I may ask your permission to palpate your bump to give me further guidance of baby's position, however you are the expert in your body and know best where baby is. The care here does not include routine clinical checks, such as measuring your bump, blood tests, urine testing or blood pressure checks.

Are complementary therapies safe? Any side-effects?

Before carrying out any treatment or therapies, an initial history is taken to ensure you receive appropriate care. The complementary therapies I offer are adapted to maternity and safe enough to your pregnancy and beyond.  During and/or after a treatment, it is common to experience reactions (healing reactions) within 24/36h. You can experience physical or emotional reactions as a way for the body to release any unwanted toxins to achieve a balance. Your symptoms may worsen before getting better, however it does not mean you have to experience reactions to guarantee the success of the treatment. You will be given aftercare advice and follow-up by me.

90min

Why are all sessions approx. 90 min long?

The first session can actually take up to 2 hours, as I will need to run through your health history, your pregnancy, answer any questions and get an informed consent before proceeding to the care provided on the day. The next sessions/consultations are likely to take 90 min long to allow time to check in and make sure you and baby are well, setup at your home, 'hands-on time' of the care provided and the after-care advice. The care provided goes beyond the 'hands-on' time, as you have the added value of being with a Midwife. So, you can receive support in navigating the maternity system, get reassurance, ask questions, discuss concerns or simply have a relaxing chat with me. You also have follow-up support to ensure you feel nurtured and informed beyond the session.

Which area do the services cover? Is it included in the price?

area

All the care provided is in your own home. I am based in Banbury (North Oxfordshire OX16), covering a range of 10 miles. I can travel within this range to close villages and counties such as West Northamptonshire and South East Warwickshire. The price includes travelling. I am willing to travel further with an extra cost per mileage (45p/mile if over 10 miles).

What happens if I have had my baby and couldn't complete a course of treatments?

You can postpone a session for the postnatal period (after your baby is born) to your convenience for up to a year. The sessions are tailored to your needs, such as general relaxation and recovery post-birth, support with breastfeeding, easing muscle tension, or managing symptoms like constipation or haemorrhoids post-birth.

Are the sessions only for me or can my birthing partner be present too?

I would love to involve your birthing partner if you choose to have labour and birth preparation or for labour promotion for  'postdates' pregnancy, as you both can learn valuable 'tools' to use in pregnancy and labour. I would also recommend booking the sessions when you know you won't be disturbed to maximise the therapeutic effects of the therapies.
